Adam PeavyAdam Peavy is a trial lawyer that lends his experience and expertise to a variety of cases and issues such as MDL and complex litigation, commercial litigation, products liability, with a special interest in pharmaceutical cases involving clients who have been injured by dangerous drugs sold in the United States. While in law school, Adam competed in National Moot Court competitions all over the country and was awarded both briefing and best speaker awards at different times. As a result of his achievements for South Texas College of Law's nationally recognized advocacy team, Adam was named as one of the Dean's most outstanding advocates and became a member of the Order of Barristers, a national honor society for courtroom advocates. After graduating from South Texas College of Law, he then joined the staff of a local white collar criminal defense firm, researching legal issues and drafting legal documents for civil and criminal proceedings at the state, federal, and appellate levels. After leaving the criminal defense firm, Adam accepted a position as a briefing attorney for Justice Margaret Garner Mirabal of the First Court of Appeals. Only nine attorneys are given the opportunity to become briefing attorneys each year and Adam was fortunate to become a part of the process behind the scenes. Since leaving the Court, Adam has spent the majority of his time litigating cases towards trial against the largest companies in America. Before joining Bailey Perrin & Bailey, Adam worked for a nationally recognized mass tort plaintiffs firm in Houston, where he gained experience representing thousands of individuals in various types of cases. Adam argued before the intermediate Texas appellate courts and has assisted in appeals to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the state appellate courts of Pennsylvania and Florida. Adam also litigated civil cases through discovery, pretrial and settlement in various jurisdictions in the United States, including but not limited to, Pennsylvania, Missouri, Florida and Texas. Adam has tried cases to verdict in various states and loves being in a courtroom. In 2005, 2006 & 2007, Adam was named by H Texas Magazine as one of its Lawyers on the Fast Track and was also named one of "Houston's top Lawyers for the people" in 2007. More recently, Adam was recognized by Texas Monthly magazine as being a 2008 Texas Super Lawyer and he will be featured in the Rising Stars Edition of the magazine, a distinction that is only given to a very small percentage of the legal community in Texas. He is a proud member of the Houston Trial Lawyers Association, the Texas Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice. Adam is also the author with Joel Androphy of Bringing Rogues to Justice: The qui tam Provisions of the False Claims Act and is also licensed to practice law in the state of Pennsylvania. |
