Ken Bailey

Ken Bailey is a founding partner in the law firm of Bailey Perrin Bailey. His practice is primarily devoted to mass torts and personal injury litigation.

Before founding Bailey Perrin Bailey, Ken was also a founder and name partner with the Houston law firm of Williams Bailey Law Firm, LLP. At Williams Bailey, Ken participated in numerous mass tort and personal injury litigation lawsuits involving asbestos, silicosis, benzene, diet drugs, anti-psychotic drugs, anti-depressent drugs and numerous plant explosions. Ken also represented the State of Texas against the tobacco companies in 1997 that resulted in the largest settlement in U.S. history. Ken has successfully represented thousands of plaintiffs in numerous pharmaceutical cases (including Fen-Phen, Zyprexa, Seroquel to name a few), almost every major gulf coast refinery explosion since 1990 (including BP Texas City and two explosions at the Phillips Petroleum Plants) and tens of thousands of asbestos and other pneumoconiosis individual lawsuits. Ken started his litigation career in the 1980’s helping injured victims recover damages from exposure to asbestos.

Prior to Williams Bailey, Ken worked at the Provost Umphrey Law Firm in Beaumont, Texas from 1983 - 1994. Similar to his experience at Williams Bailey, Ken devoted his practice to mass torts and personal injury litigation. At Provost Umphrey, Ken represented dozens of unions in their personal injury cases and settled two famous class actions, the Wanda Jenkins Class Action in 1986 and Cimino Class Action in 1991, which led to the settlement of thousands of asbestos related claims for numerous firms throughout Texas.

Ken graduated from University of Houston in 1969 with a Bachelor of Business Degree and in 1972 with a law degree. In undergraduate school, Ken was the quarterback on the University of Houston’s football team in 1966 – 1968. He won the Charles Saunders Award for outstanding scholar athlete in 1968 and is a member of the Houston Hall of Honor Council, the American Bar Association, The Texas Trial Lawyers Association, the Houston Trial Lawyers Association and the University of Houston Law Foundation.

Ken has earned a reputation among his colleagues, peers and adversaries as a masterful, tough and skillful negotiator. He was the son of an oil worker and was raised in the Humble Oil Camp in Beaumont, Texas. Ken has never forgotten his roots and has been a life time friend and advocate for the labor unions.
